Application Development Team Lead (Sinosoft) | Insurance (1 year renewable contract)

The Development Team Lead will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of core insurance systems and applications. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on coding capabilities, and in-depth understanding of insurance industry processes—especially in relation to SinoSoft systems and code maintenance.

The Role
• Lead and mentor a team of software developers through the full software development lifecycle.
• Manage and maintain existing insurance applications, including those built on SinoSoft platforms.
• Perform hands-on coding and architecture design primarily using Java and Node.js.
• Coordinate with business analysts, actuaries, and product teams to design system enhancements aligned with business needs.
• Ensure smooth integration between SinoSoft and other internal or third-party systems.
• Maintain high standards of software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and best practices in DevOps.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement optimization improvements.
• Support project delivery timelines and ensure compliance with IT governance frameworks

The Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a team lead or senior developer capacity.
• Proven experience in the insurance industry, preferably with exposure to life or annuity products.
• Hands-on development experience in Java and Node.js frameworks.
• Strong knowledge and experience using and maintaining SinoSoft systems and SinoSoft code customization.
• Solid understanding of system integration, data architecture, and cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
